LHA London, formerly The London Hostels Association, has been providing good quality, well-managed and affordable temporary living accommodation in London for over 70 years and was established by the Government of the day.
Over this period, LHA has rationalized its property portfolio to respond to the expectations sought by residents in terms of quality and style of accommodation.
Today LHA is a charity with 13 sites housing students, young professionals, interns and apprentices. All our accommodation sites are sui generis uses that are subject to HMO regulations.
LHA acquired the freehold of the former Rosemount Hotel at 61-63 Staines Road in August 2019 and is intending to submit a planning application for redevelopment of the hotel in late 2020.
The site is located in central Hounslow, at the west end of the High Street. The building was constructed in the 1960s, is tired and outdated. It is inefficient and does not make best use of the site.
To address these challenges, LHA’s plans are to demolish the existing building and construct a purpose-built development providing affordable, high quality temporary living accommodation tailored to meet local needs.
The hotel was operational until early March 2020 but occupation halted in line with the Government’s restrictions on accommodation and hospitality uses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
